Ada K. Caruthers, DVM  |
| Dr. Caruthers received her DVM from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. Following graduation, she interned at a large referral hospital, New Jersey Equine Clinic. She launched her veterinary career with a local Virginia veterinary practice prior to opening Oak Lawn Veterinary Clinic–now Newmarket Equine Clinic–in 1992. Dr. Caruthers provides general equine veterinary services and is one of only a few equine chiropractioners in Virginia performing VOM.
Dr. Caruthers is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and their local Virginia Chapters (VAEP and VVMA). |

Laura Markey, DVM  |
Laura Markey, DVM, a 2006
graduate from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary
Medicine at Virginia Tech., joined Newmarket Equine Clinic's
team on Jun 13, 2006. Dr. Markey grew up on a small horse farm
in Rockville, Virginia. She graduated from the college of
William & Mary with a BS in Biology in May 2002, and went on
to complete her DVM degree with a specialization in equine
medicine. Her professional interests are in general equine
practice, preventative medicine and lameness.
Dr. Markey remains active in equine activities and especially enjoys
trail riding with her Quarter Horse, CG. Her other interests
include volleyball, skiing and outdoor activities. |
